February 2023

February as very similar to our January schedule with a lot of volleyball and basketball, along with a little bit of softball. We also enjoyed a skiing weekend in WV over President’s Day.           As with our tradition over the last 5 years, we went skiing over President’s Day weekend with the O’Roukes.  The kids have learned together over the last several years, so we are able to keep our eyes on them and watch them improve over the last few years. We left Indy around noon on Thursday and get in around 8PM. We got settled in and when we woke up on Friday, it was raining so we slow-played the morning.  Around lunch, we went to get our rentals and lift passes when the rain turned to snow.  It turned out to be a good day of skiing, but the best day was Saturday as everything was groomed and the lift lines moved quickly.  Things started to get warmer on Sunday, which caused us to take off our jackets, gloves, and hats. It was a fun afternoon and we went out to dinner at Sirianni’s on Sunday evening. When we were not skiing, we had fun watching the NBA all-star activities, playing UNO and euchre, and running around the house. We left around 9AM and got home around 4PM on Monday. We quickly hit up the grocery store, picked up Timber and got back into our normal routines.

We enjoyed a quick visit from Randy and Anna early in the month. They were in town for Randy to get his shoulder looked at.

My mom also came in for a visit toward the end of the month to celebrate Erin’s birthday and see the girls play some volleyball. The girls and I went out to dinner on Monday evening with mom to Binkley’s. On Tuesday, she was meeting up with Don & Mary, Pat & Paul, along with Linda. Beth and I met them all out at Bonefish and we enjoyed seeing each other and catching up.  Sarah’s Things of the Month

Sarah’s been enjoying her first season of volleyball and playing along with her classmates. She has had fun with her Jr. Trojans team as she has been meeting girls from other schools on her team. She is gearing up for softball season which will start in March. She had another opportunity to have baking lesson with Tracy and they made a chocolate cake from scratch. I did not personally enjoy it, but everyone loved it.  Allison’s Thing of the Month

Allison’s volleyball season as been fun to watch as they have turned the corner and the 2 teams will volley back and forth. She is also gearing up for softball season and looking forward to getting outside.  A few more items from this month:

  • My back has continued to get better and stronger throughout the month and I was able to ski in WV and get back to running. I’ve also started going back to Orangetheory, so I’m starting to feel a little more normal.
  • Our family went out with Jackie & Adam for dinner at Bru Burger. We have been trying to schedule this since the fall but we kept having conflict so it was fun to finally get together.
