We enjoyed a few trips in March, where Deb and I got to go skiing in Steamboat Springs and then a few weeks later, we had a great spring break at Marco Island. Between all of that, we ended volleyball season and started up softball and track practices. Debbie and I flew out early on March 6th to Steamboat and were able to get a half day of skiing in before checking into our condo, getting a dinner and some groceries. We were able to walk to the gondola lift, so each morning we hit up the slopes by
9AM and kept going most of the day, only taking a few breaks for lunch or an afternoon beer. We enjoyed going out to dinner and then hitting up the hot tub before heading to bed. The last day of skiing was the most challenging as the snow was falling in the morning and it was hard to see. Once the sun came out, it was a lot of fun with the fresh snow. We flew back on March 10th and got back in town in time for the fish fry at church. We appreciate Anna and Randy watching the girls so we could get some time away.
Later in the month, we flew out on Saturday morning to Florida for spring break. The Dodson’s were heading to Disney so we got a chance to hang out with them in the airport before leaving.Everything went smoothly and we were at our condo at 4PM with groceries and girls hit up the pool while we unpacked. Each day was very similar with us heading to the beach around 11 and staying until 3 before heading to the pool. We enjoyed playing in the ocean, paddleball and building sandcastles. We went out to eat at Pinchers, Sunset Grill, The Little Bar and CJs on the Bay. We went kayaking through the mangroves on Tuesday, played some putt-putt on Thursday and got ice cream a few times. Our flight home had us back in time to go to church so we could have a quiet Sunday.
After eliminating 2021, our school resumed the Daddy Daughter dance this year and the girls and I had fun. There was lots of dancing and singing by the younger girls while the older ones were a little quieter.Allison came to the dance late because she had a basketball game.
For St. Patrick’s Day this year, Sarah’s 4thgrade class participated in the parade downtown. After dropping her off at school, Deb and I went to a party at the O’Rourke’s house before heading downtown. After the parade, we went to the Rathskeller and then found our way to OPTs before heading home for the evening.
The weather wasn’t ideal, but the kids has fun and so did the parents.
Sarah’s Things of the Month
Sarah’s CKS volleyball and Jr. Trojans basketball ended in early March and she enjoyed a week or two break before getting into softball. She went to a birthday party for a classmate that was indoor rock climbing. She had fun with her friends and enjoyed trying something new.
Allison’s Thing of the Month
Like Sarah, Allison ended volleyball and basketball seasons and quickly switched to softball and track. She seems to gotten faster so she is running the 200 and the medley relay. She is also doing long jump and the softball throw. A few more items from this month:
- We had our laundry room renovated with new cabinets, fresh paint, and a new countertop.
- We went to a 40th birthday party at the District Tap for Kortney Wenclewicz. We saw several people from church along with some of my old basketball friends from high school.
- Before leaving for spring break, we were able to see Frank and Jan for a quick dinner hosted by the Dodson’s.
