April 2023

We arrived back from Spring Break on April 1st and quickly got back into the routine of school, softball and track.  We celebrated Sarah’s birthday by having enchiladas and she got a new desk for her room.  With softball going on, we didn’t get to celebrate as a family because Allison had softball practice, but they had some cookies with the Snideckis on the way home after school.
The Shafers came to visit on Good Friday for the Easter weekend. Debbie, Julie and I went to Orangetheory to workout

on Saturday morning. Debbie and Julie then went and got pedicures in the afternoon while Kyle and I went to Bier brewery for a few beers.  All the girls got along most of the time and had fun playing with each other and Timber. That evening, we grilled out some kabobs and did some smores by the fire. We went to Easter mass and they left in the afternoon. That evening, Debbie and I went to the Bassett’s house for our traditional lamb dinner along with Brandon, Diane and Ben.

Randy and Anna came to visit the following weekend as we were having their girls combined birthday party on that

Saturday eveningMark, Chris, Kathy and the Dodsons came and we had burger and hotdogs. The girls got plenty of fun presents and enjoyed the party. Over the weekend there were softball games and a very cold and wet track meet that may have had a few snowflakes.
Allison’s birthday was celebrated at the softball field with an exciting win in extra innings. She was able to bring some cookies for her entire time and was happy to get some new shoes she had been wanting for a long time.

  Sarah’s Things of the Month

Sarah’s softball season has been fun for her as she is on a team with several of her friends. She plays mostly 3rd base and short stop. Her batting is pretty good and she rarely has a strike called when she isn’t swinging.

Allison’s Thing of the Month  Allison’s track season has been exciting as she is getting better at long jump and is usually in the top 5 when it comes to her softball throwShe runs the 200M pretty quickly and then is the 2nd leg of the 800M medley relay. She is enjoying her softball season as she is also on a team with several of her friends and enjoys playing 1st and 3rd base. Allison went on a day-long field trip to St. Meinrad with her entire class. They enjoyed the bus ride along with seeing the archabbey.

A few more items from this month:

  • Debbie took the girls to a Chatard’s softball game where they were able to see a few of the girls they know play.Several CKS girls were there to watch the game.
  • Laura was in town for a quick weekend and we were able to have lunch with her family which allowed for the cousins to hang out.
  • Debbie had a girl’s night at the Pigman’s where she etched some Purdue and WV beer glasses.
  • Debbie and I went to the Brady awards, which is a fundraising event for Forte at Lucas Oil Stadium.
  • I got a chance to meet up with John Oblazney at breakfast. I’ve known John since 2006 when he was the CFO at Hurco and has always been a great mentor.
