January 2022

Well, I guess as it is past valentine’s day and I’m just not getting around to writing our update for January, it is easy to say that I’m a little behind.  January was been filled with basketball and volleyball, with at least one of the girls having practices or games most days which has us coming and going all the time.

The month started off with our family heading over to the Anderson’s house to hang out with them and the Watkins on New Year’s Day.  We enjoyed playing some cards and watching some of the bowl games.  The next day I left for a work trip to announce an acquisition in Wisconsin. We were there for 2 days and it went well. I was busy doing many of the finance related items that are necessary during that time.  It was a great experience and I’m excited to make some more trips up there getting to know the people and understanding their business.

Debbie had been very involved with the new facility they are opening at work about a mile from where they are currently located.  She has had the privilege of picking out equipment, setting up the clinic and planning out the opening which is scheduled in March.  The new equipment has required some additional training for her and her staff, so she has been adding that to her schedule.

We had 2 events in January that were scheduled on Saturday evenings and were cancelled.  We decided to keep our sitters for those evenings and Deb and I went out for dinner both times.  We went to Seasons 52 and then met up with the Bassetts at Binkley’s for some drinks.  The following weekend we went to Ocean Prime and then went to Drakes to watch some NFL playoff football.

I enjoyed a nice 43rd birthday this year.  I was greeted in the morning with the girls decorating the house.  I worked at home and was able to go to Orangetheory for a workout.  We took the girls to Bonefish Grill for dinner that evening.

Sarah’s Things of the Month

Sarah has enjoyed playing basketball at Castleton Christian and I really enjoy this league.  I like the fact that it is co-ed and allows for girls and boys to play against each other.  Her defense has gotten a lot more intense and she has made a few baskets.  Sarah has also shown an interest in baking so she and Tracy whipped up some brownie whoopie pies. She was able to use all of her utensils and apron she got for Christmas.

Allison’s Thing of the Month

Allison has been busy playing on the Jr. Trojans team for Chatard.  Her team is struggling and I believe it is a good thing for her and her friends.  They have been so good at so many things that I’m glad they are being humbled a little bit.  I’m looking forward to seeing how she reacts to it this spring and summer to see if she does some practicing on her own.  Her volleyball team has continued to practice in January getting ready for games starting in February.

A few more items from this month:

  • I went over to Watkins to watch some Purdue basketball and play poker with Anderson, Watkins, Foulke & Bleill.  It is always a good time to see those guys, even if you are the first one out of money playing poker!  https://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1t7OhG9osn2K7jfa3WDYOxtAGa_pKqUnUhttps://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=1wn8VtwMgvaDfJYPgh5s_8A3zjyrQgKathttps://drive.google.com/uc?export=view&id=19jtJzs0kZKPalYLDw0C4JA6WQfMkl-dN
